Irrigated Grain Sorghum Response to Long-Term Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium Fertilization

چکیده

Long-term research shows that phosphorus (P) and nitrogen (N) fertilizer must be applied to optimize production of irrigated grain sorghum in western Kansas. In 2020, N alone increased yields 60 bu/a, whereas P together up 83 bu/a. Averaged across the past 10 years, fertilization 82 The application 160 lb/a (with P) produced maximum yield which is slightly less than 10-year average (2011–2020). potassium (K) has had no effect on throughout study period. content reached a ~0.7 lb/bu while 0.15 (0.34 lb P2O5/bu) K 0.19 (0.23 K2O/bu). At highest N, P, rate, apparent recovery was 33% for 69% 40% K. Nitrogen soil organic matter decreased pH. Phosphorus tended maintain or increase test levels.

Response of Young Citrus Trees on Selected Rootstocks to Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium Fertilization

The majority of the citriculture in Brazil is located in the state of São Paulo, with a total production area of 700,000 ha. Trees are grafted mostly on ‘Rangpur’ lime (RL; Citrus limonia Osbeck) rootstock. Despite its good horticultural performance, use of other rootstocks has increased with the search for disease-tolerant varieties to improve grove productivity and longevity. Furthermore, the...

Canola Response to Nitrogen, Sulfur, Phosphorus, and Potassium Fertilization in Arkansas

Canola (Brassica rapa) is an oilseed crop that is related to broccoli (Brassica oleracea var Italica) and turnip (Brassica campestris var Rapifera). The name ‘canola’ actually stands for ‘Canadian oil, low acid’. Canola’s low erucic acid content differentiates it from rapeseed (Brassica napus) and is sometimes referred to as LEAR or ‘low erucic acid rapeseed.’ Canola seed contains about 40% oil...

Long-Term Effects of Nitrogen Management Practices on Grain Yield, Nitrogen Uptake, and Efficiency in Irrigated Corn

Crop management strategies that improve Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE) increase profits while reducing the detrimental effects on the environment associated with fertilizer nitrogen (N) loss. Effective N management should include several critical factors that are very interrelated. A study was conducted at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center, Goodwell, OK to evaluate the effects of multi...

Growth, Yield and Nitrate Accumulation of Irrigated Carrot and Okra in Response to Nitrogen Fertilization

A randomized block experiment conducted on Sultanpur silt loam evaluated the N effects on growth and nitrate accumulation of okra (Hibiscus esculents L. cv. Sabz pari) and carrot (Daucus carota L. cv. T29). Treatments consisted of a control, 100, 150 and 200 kg N ha. Significantly higher yields of carrot and okra were recorded at 150 kg N ha. Nitrate concentration in both increased (> 35 to 200...

Changes in Olsen Phosphorus Concentration and Its Response to Phosphorus Balance in Black Soils under Different Long-Term Fertilization Patterns

The Olsen phosphorus (P) concentration of a soil is a key index that can be used to evaluate the P supply capacity of the soil and to estimate the optimal P fertilization rate. A study of the relationship between the soil Olsen P concentration and the P balance (P input minus P output) and their variations among different fertilization patterns will help to provide useful information for proper...
